^Top^ December 20 (12:19) AM - Blackvine Militia mission The Volunteer Militia successfully escorted a caravan of badly needed supplies to Blackvine on the 25th day of Palut, in the 217th year of the Republic. Ordered by Governor Sedivain to assure the safe arrival of supplies needed to help rebuild and fortify Blackvine, the Militia mustered in Vetallun, where a worker delivered the goods and promptly went on his way. With trooper Ponipolous managing the cart and Captain Prion in the lead, the Militia deployed along the river path to watch for highwaymen. It is fortunate that they did, for the caravan had barely left Vetallun when a large force of well-trained bandits attacked. Smaller groups harassed the caravan the remainder of the journey, culminating in the streets of Blackvine where Prion and his troopers killed the bandit leader. Although well below full strength and hard-pressed at times, the Militia was successful in its task. The Governor was pleased, and quite concerned about the strange resistance the caravan met. Who would care to prevent the rebuilding of Blackvine? ~ Fnord December 19 (1:25) AM - Party with Flavius A party was held recently at the estate of Governer Flavius of Monlon, and many stories were shared, many songs sung, and poems recited. He awarded the ones he enjoyed most gold brooches shaped like lyres, these 5 were: Maniceae who told a tale of a brave Altene who stood up to his god; Vladmir who recounted a story of why Corvus was named Rat-Slayer; Katerina who sang a lively dancing song; Malik who preformed a beautiful ballad on his lyre; Aestro who enchanted the audience with his tragic tale of the woeful flowerslayer. The main purpose of the evening, was to get a design for a statue commemorating all the fallen Legio soldiers in the Iridine-Cinera war. This honor was bestowed upon Wirrut, whom will be creditted on the statue, and recieved a tidy sum (3 talents) to be donated to the "save the priests (Wirrut) fund". All in all, a good, peaceful night, full of good food, drink, and friends. ~ CreepingDas and Kurlac December 17 (8:27) PM - Another Cineran Spy found Suddenly, the city heard a Legion officer cry out. Something about mysterious powder. After a quick search he was found outside the Iridine bank, dead the feet of a sailor wielding a gladius. After a short chase, the sailor was caught outside Pego's. His back against the wall, he proceeded to violently attack all in his vicinity with his weapon. Those who had come for an easy battle were wrong, as the sailor's battlecry was nothing less than "I eat grandmaster for breakfast!" Once, a flashing powder was thrown. It was a dud, though, and nothing happened. After a while and a good beating, the Legio with help of some citizen, calmed him down, permanently. Why did he attack even when he was outnumbered? What was this mysterious powder he threw that killed the Legio Officer? What was his intentions? The number of questions are just increasing...are just ~ Dice December 17 (9:32) AM - Locutus abduction Yesterday Locutus was abducted from the Iridine Bath's by two generic masks claiming to have business with Locutus. While the masks received little to no resistance from surrounding gladsmen and spear wielders, they quickly disappeared with Locutus following them. Nothing is known of what happend between the two masked men and Locutus. Later that day, Locutus was discovered in the Hospice, stripped of his minor belongings and beaten up. The two masks disappeared before anyone had a chance to reply to this act. Has the Guild gotten tougher and starting to flex some power? Was crime their true motive? Exactly what happened between them and Locutus...? ~ Tomtops December 5 (12:11) AM - Governor Flavius party. Joining governor of Monlon, Flavius, in his house this eve we were all pleasantly surprised by his magnificent house and delicious food and drink. After a bit of mingling Flavius raised a toast to the fallen soldiers of Iridine against the Cinerans. He told us of the upcoming project, a memorial to the brave lives lost in the war and told us our ideas could affect the outcome of the memorial. Flavius then retired into his chambers and a few worried men followed him too. Some had gone through the papers in his studies and seen reports from Flavius's guard about recent Cineran sightings. I travelled back to see what was going on but Flavius convinced me that the Cinerans would not come and we had nothing to worry. Heading back to the atrium I heard yelling from behind and ran back. Flavius was being held by a Cineran and there were several more soldiers around. Most of the guests quickly pounced on the Cinerans and the threat was neutralized. A few though sustained large battle wounds, but the majority was ok. Flavius had fleed the officer's hands and the Legio turned its attention to him, who was the only Cineran to survive, but I assume his jail cell will be no less comforting then death. With the night, all but ruined Flavius retired to his chamber and the party began to disperse. ~ Gotbells November 28 (1:18) AM - Legionary Rexunius competition On the 18th day of Aera, the legendary legionary Rexunius held a competetion for his famed Golden Bear Gladius. The people participating walked back and forth across Iridine looking for gold parchments with clues to where the next was, and eventually Rexunius' son Gaavius, who held the gladius. Prion was the first to find Gaavius, in the Monlon Temple. A number of others arrived shortly after and received a few stones for their effort. ~ CornBread November 24 (2:15) PM - Fern returns finally! Fern, the long missed trainer for archers and outdoorsmen returned to Iridine, announcing her return through our thoughts. She promised to return to her old training hall, and promised to be able to teach a few new skills. I mucked down from the Militia HQ in Blackvine quick as I could to see what the well-traveled trainer had to offer. Fern's knowledge in bows was far past anything I could fathom. ~ Romantrhok November 22 (6:31) PM - Festival of the Conqueror With the arrival of the Festival of the Conqueror, the merchant Calapsos, ever on the lookout for an opportunity to enrich himself, held an auction at the Wayfarer and took orders for costumes. Accompanied by the seamstress Memava, Calapsos thrilled the large crowd with several pieces of fine jewelry, and rich clothing. Bidding was fierce but polite, and the merchants drew a tidy profit. Indeed, with the exception of the interruptions of some incompetent thieves and the insistence of the constables on arresting several law-breakers while they were in attendance, Calapsos' visit was a pleasant and welcome diversion. Memava stayed many hours, accepting orders for costumes for the festival. It will be interesting to see the citizens in their finery at the upcoming Festival. ~ Fnord November 22 (6:22) PM - Calapsos Arrives In Iridine Last night the traveling jeweler Calapsos and his associate Memava came to the Wayfarer to take orders for costumes and jewelry for the upcoming Festival of the Conqueror. They were also taking orders for wedding ensembles and rings. Many people were at the Wayfarer drinking and enjoying themselves. Calapsos auctioned off some very nice pieces of jewelry and a dagger. All went well except for one or two disturbances...A man by the name of Sirsam tried to steal a piece of jewelry from Calapsos and unfortunatly was kind of killed accidently while being apprehended. Luckily though...Ereal saw fit to see that he graced us with his presence again. After that incident..the auction went on and the orders taken for the costumes for the party. ~ Minuet November 13 (9:20) AM - Search for Gagra. After a sighting of a huge alligator in the alleys (who wagged its tail and roared), Sylicus reported a group of bandits were attacking the Toga. Arriving at the Toga, three bandits, led by a thin, fierce-looking man, were confronted by a number of citizens. To the surprise of everyone present, they chose not to attack. The fierce-looking man asked if anyone knew the whereabouts of Gagra, the resident swords-master/Legionary. As Gagra was asleep at the moment, they told the man that Gagra probably be around soon. My question: What do these bandits want, and why are they so friendly? Rumours speak of Gagra's gladius, but who can know. ~ Dice November 12 (1:43) PM - Cinerans in disguise. When the citizens were patrolling the forest for bandits, they spotted some Cineran regulars. The defenders of Iridine rallied and quickly put down the incursion. Elements of Legio I, the Militia, the Falcons, and angry citizens quickly destroyed a strong squad of Cineran soldiers and their bandit allies in the forest along Vetallun Road. Just when things seemed quiet though, the first reports of disguised Cinerans in Iridine itself rang out. Wearing the garb of traders and servants, Cineran infiltrators attacked in several places at once. Yet again, they could not overcome the defenses and were driven off with heavy losses. However, the ease with which the Cinerans inserted such a force into Iridine leaves many lingering questions...when will they strike again? ~ Fnord November 5 (11:21) PM - New shops!. Today, 3 new shopkeepers arrived to Iridine. Lexunius, his wife Bacavia and his sister Lexia open their doors to new customers who wish to furnish their dwellings, wherever they may be. These new shops are located just west of Venina's leather shop. They are garanteed to lighten your burden of denars. ~ TEC News Staff November 1 (00:21) AM - Strange boatride. Many people were attracted by Captain Narcosis offer to join him on his ship, before the ship sailed off, a small gift was delievered consisting of a delicate ring with a small skull on. After a while, the boat was out at sea, people started to get nervous, what kind of ship was this? Dead bodies down below, blood almost everywhere, too silent sailors, and a ship that sailed almost above the waters. After a while the sailors showed their true identity, removed their masks, and all of a sudden, skeletons, ravens, bats and other creatures were running around, and the Captain was gone. Exactly as the situation was getting under control, big waves started to sweep the passengers over the rail and into the sea. Reports of sharks and large tentacles came, but after a while most people had floating ashore safely again. And the adventure was over. This time. ~TEC news staff October 31 (10:48) AM - Attack Last night reports of crazed bandits started to come in from all directions. They attacked the Wayfarer, Stone Toga Inn, the Bank, the Baths and the Hospice. Rumours say there were over 50 of them, all displayed a wild, glassy eyed countanance, as if under influence of drugs. The Legio caught one alive, and all he could say was he had found the "Cinner hoard". His information led this mixture of Legionaires and citizens to a small building near the baths with a small secret room in the cellar, there more Cinerans were found, along with a vial of greenish liquid, believed to be the drug/poison. Why are they poisoning food? what are their purpose? The Legio will continue their invesatigation in this. ~TEC news staff October 28 (08:48) AM - Green armoured man Mysterious happenings took place last night when a dark green armoured man attacked accompanioed by some Carrion birds. It all was over rather quickly, but sickness and vomit filled the streets long after Iridine was safe again. ~TEC news staff October 25 (9:48) PM - The Shopkeeper A cry for help was heard by the Toga last eve. Rushing to the scene, nearby citizens found a badly beaten merchant lying by the fountain. After some healing, Lexia, along with her friend Filaneus, was able to answer questions. Turns out she's starting a shop by Venina's, selling special candles and lanterns (which stunned even the most jaded critics) along with her brother, a woodworker who makes furniture. Lexia and her family are from Windward. Expect their shop to be ready soon, with the arrival of Lexinius and Bacavia. ~ Dice October 16 (12:04) AM - The Cargo Citizens of Iridine met with a merchant, Mercurio, at the Golden Anchor. He was concerned about a ship he had major investment in being overdue. Eventually he was informed that the ship had arrived at a nearby dock. When Mercurio and the citizens went to meet the ship they saw that the ship drawing into port was mysteriously crewless. When boarded they found dead sailors and eventually freed the lone surviving guard from a locked hold. The guard screamed about demons and shortly died also. The rescuers were soon overwhelmed by disease infested rats and battled them courageously. Many of them fell ill with nausea, fever and chills but the infestation of diseased rodents were all killed. With untiring efforts of a group of healers at the hospice, all were nursed back to health losing only a couple of citizens to the disease. Meanwhile citizens flamed the diseased ship and set it adrift. Many citizens, in retrospect, pondered whether this diseased ship was a deliberate attempt to destroy the city by unknown forces. ~ TEC News Staff October 13 (3:56) PM - Celebration All residents of Iridine are invited to a party to celebrate the marriage of Kylara Shonagar and Aeryll Doman. The party will be at the Wayfarer on Monday, October 18 at about 9:30pm EST. Hope to see you there! ~ Jlewis October 9 (10:20) PM - Distressed A mishap brought numerous rare weapons to Iridine tonight, as Gnaunius, and his guard Mongo, sold wares in the Wayfarer. The small company that Gnaunius worked for left a box that was marked for Windward behind, and as a result, was forced to liquidate all the items. All but the poor seemed pleased as Gnaunius auctioned off quarterstaves, spears, gladii, and even a bow and shield. ~ TEC News Staff October 2 (11:04) PM - Child Abducted A young girl known to congregate around the Stone Toga Inn, and more specifically, its bartender Constantine, was abducted Friday in the common room while playing with Constantine and several patrons. An extensive search led by the good citizens of this city ensued, stretching from the Harbor of the Moons to the swamps and forests north of Vetallun, and even Monlon. No clues as to the whereabouts of girl, Miranda, or her abductor were found. The abductor has been described as a grisly man, and was wearing a hooded cloak. Authorities hinted that he may be a member of the infamous bandit gang that has been terrorizing Iridine for the last few months. While no ransom has been demanded and all telepathic communication with the girl has been lost, most citizens are optimistic about her safe recovery. Said one, "Well, you know how things go. In a few days we'll discover some clue, send our warriors out to get her with the connies trailing behind... and she'll have nothing but cuts and bruises." ~Cleisthenes September 26 (3:44) PM - City Shaken By Earthquake Last evening the city of Iridine was awaken by an earthquake. Witnesses say houndsnakes and hounds flowed into the city streets shortly after the quake. The critters ran about the city attacking innocent citizens until local hunters disposed of them. What caused the attack has not yet been determined. Some blame Ravan while others claim this is the begining of the Moonfall. ~ Nberry September 25 (1:05) PM - Lauis' Mysterious Island A group of priests, led by Lauis, organized citizens from around the city at a shrine southwest of Seneda's Bank. Lauis used a mirror and Piron's Sapphire of Shadows mirror to call upon Ereal. Ereal replied through a number of images sent to the mirror. The first image was of a temple filled with strange priests. On the neck of a priest with raven like hair was what seems to be one of the amulets needed to stop Moonfall. The mirror provided a close up view of the amulet before switching to the image of an island. Laius said he would find out where the island is and departed the temple. ~ Gagra Pivot September 24 (11:25) PM - Mysteries and Oddities around the Stone Toga Inn The other day, a shout for help was heard in our thoughts. It appears that a worker was in need of assistance. He partly got out the word, "Toga," before being abruptly cut off. Several concerned citizens raced into the Stone Toga Inn to find a worker lying dead on the floor. He looked to be in a terrible state. Extensive investigation led to no further clues. Scenarios were bandied forth, the most popular of them being poison or plague, due to the condition of the body. The worker was led to be burned and buried by several gentlemen. Priestess-Acolyte Luminae conducted the services. Upon returning the party encountered a child. The child spoke to us about a "sleeping man" that was laying just east. Upon looking that way, we discovered yet another dead worker. When questioned, the child could not tell us who, if anyone, had attacked the deceased. In his hands, though, the child held a tin brooch in the shape of a leaf, much similar to those that had been found on the bodies of bandits who attacked the city the day before. The plot began heating up when a not unsimilar brooch was found in a pouch on the most recently dead workers body. Later on, another bandit attacked, asking for a hooded man. The bandit was killed, and yet another brooch found. The hooded man was engaged and attacked, until he fainted and was carried off by the constables. Another mystery evolved around a bear; rather, a man in a bear suit. He was knocked out, but it was a source of puzzlement to many as to who he was and why his bear suit would not come off. Future developments are being monitored. ~ Livy September 17 (10:15) AM - Ashes Recovered, Apolia rescued A few eves past in the Monlon mountain temple, a tired and wounded Portunas appealed for help from Iridine's citizens. He and his noviate, a woman he called 'Elwindia', were ambushed by both Ravanite soldiers and bandits in the forests near Vetallun. Unfortunately, the young noviate carried on her the pure ashes of Iridine, one of the reagents needed by the temple priests to aid in averting Moonfall. The group of citizens, a mixture of Legio soldiers, constables, freelance warriors, healers, and locksmiths, tracked the assailants to a cave in the forest and, after an intense battle and a very troublesome lock, they managed to rescue the noviate who turned out to be Apolia, a merchant woman who had gone missing in a Cineran attack months before and had come under Portunas' care after she lost her memory. Though the ashes were safely returned, Apolia had to bid the old priest and the care of the temple goodbye, having regained knowledge of her true identity and of her worried betrothed, a centurion by the name of Martius. ~ Anonymous September 4 (4:16) PM - New Aid For Moonfall Shadows of flapping wings and galloping hooves were spotted over the city last night. At first it was speculated to be a dragon, or some Ravanite demon. A group lead by Subaltern Wallace of Legio I scoured a local inactive Ravanite shrine to find it all but active. People began gathering around the Stone Toga Inn to watch the skies, but the crowd dispursed upon hearing that Roq, a local resident, had discovered a carrion bird and a pegasus in battle northwest of the North Side Carcass Buyers. Many flocked to help the stallion with its wounds once the battle had ended. A few came hoping just to catch a glimpse of the magnificent creature. It was soon discovered that the pegasus had come in search of amulets needed for Moonfall. Being bombarded with questions, the pegasus became quite nervous, but was able to work out a form of communication through stomping its hooves. Once for "yes" and twice for "no". A few things that could be figured out were that it came in search of amulets, it would be difficult to gather them, and we could not help it. The pegasus was too hurt to fly home, due to an injured right wing from the battle, and was able let us know he wanted to rest, and would meet us once he had recovered. ~ Citkat August 29 (4:30) PM - Ravanites Routed In the forests north of Iridine, elements of Legio I with support from various citizens pursued and captured a rich caravan from the Ravanite scum. It began when strange priest was discovered bound in the woods. Tattoeoed with a carrion bird on his forehead, his skin was black as night itself. In gestures and halting speech, the priest revealed the movements of the caravan before freeing himself from his iron manacles with a touch. Almost immediately green-armored Ravanites and carrion birds attacked. After a hard fight they were destroyed, and a force of soldiers and citizens intercepted the caravan. Consisting of more skilled Ravanite soldiers and slaves, the caravan was captured after another great battle. With help from a hooded stranger, the caravan's treasure was seized and shared amongst those present. While rumors persist that several reagents as well as many strange and wondrous treasures were found, there is no confirmation at this time. ~ Fnord August 21 (8:00) PM - Lottery Results Yesterday evening, Tumeas drew tiles from a pouch to decide who he would service today. If you posses any of the following tiles, you are one of the 'lucky' twenty two winners who will have a part of their body decorated with a piercing. The winning tiles were: 1, 2, 4, 7, 14, 15, 19, 22, 24, 27, 30, 32, 34, 39, 40, 48, 51, 55, 63, 65, 68, 70, 71, 74. Customers will be served in that order. ~ TEC News Staff August 19 (11:45) PM - Cantankerous Merchant Calapsos will deliver some requested items and perhaps negotiate with new customers who desire one-of-a-kind fine jewelry. Calapsos will only take orders from new customers that know how to write and bring him written parchment orders. He will be found at the Wayfarer Inn. ~ TEC News Staff August 15 (4:30) PM - Pompeii Captured! On the 28th day of Aera, in the 216th year of the Republic, Pompeii Gnaeus, a former Captain of the Iridine Constables, was arrested by Constable Oxalicius with the aid of the flower-slayer, Aestro, and Fistandantilus. Pompeii was arrested for several counts of impersonation and a count of Treason. More details will be available once we receive them. ~ TEC News Staff August 14 (1:55) AM - Here We Go Again... Well, it happened again. Last night Claudette, an attractive shopkeeper who owns a store next to Josephus, was attacked again by Cinerans. There were about five soldiers, including one heavy Cineran, in Claudette's shop. They were pouding on a door leading to a side-bedroom, the place Claudette was hiding. After a battle, all the Cinerans were deposed of. Magestica, a legion recruit, unlocked the door to the bedroom and Claudette was found, terrified. Apparantly, the Cineran warlord has taken a fancy to Claudette, and will not rest until he has her. More attacks on Claudette are expected in the future. ~ Kurlac August 12 (1:15) PM - Auctions Galore Last night, Calapsos came to the Wayfarer bearing many fine treasures, mostly jewelry, though a couple daggers as well. The evening went along smoothly, the only interruptions being the arrest of a known thief, and the usual sightings of what appears to be a scorpion. The evening ended with many crude copper amulets shaped like various amulets sold for 200 denar a piece, and custom orders taken for jewelry and repairs. ~ CreepingDas August 9 (11:45) PM - Macova Rescued An Iridinian force engaged a Cineran encampment northeast of the village of Blackvine in an effort to free the captured priest of Ereal, Macova, who was abducted during a Cineran raid months past. The brunt of the operation was undertaken by elements of Legio I as well as two wings of the Falcons, a notable guild of warriors in the city, though there were also several freelancers and concerned citizens who participated in the fighting. At the end of the battle, the Cineran forces were wiped out with a few prisoners taken. Macova, and the boy Bari, who was apparently captured as a hostage, were successfully rescued and returned to the Hospice though in critical condition. Both were placed under the care of the priestess Aquavia. While the goals of the expedition were acheived, there are rumors of friction between the two participating groups as well as complaints that they attempted to excclude other citizens from participating. The information concerning the encampment was provided by a group of hunters near Blackvine. Rumors of shadier, anonymous sources have been discounted. ~ Anonymous August 7 (11:30) PM - Rinath's Tournament Rinath's festival was quite a success. While the guests downed a talent worth of food and drink, Malik sung us to wonderful stories. The festival then moved on to the training grounds where we held two events. First, we had a race through the obstacle course. After much cursing Zaknafien won the one hundred denar prize. We then tried a javelin throw. After a few unsuccessful throws, and one person accidently getting hit by Rinath, a masked man stole our attention away. After the man left I began my world famous tournament. For the first time since I have started them I tried to fight in it, and I was very close to last place. First place was taken by Legio member Thain, after Magestica stopped a fight between them for the chapionship. A person during the tournament put down his weapon and started throwing pants around at people, of course this person lost. It was quite a successful tournament and I will do one again. ~ Rinath August 6 (11:55) PM - Battle of Hogs-Back Hill Today, a man in a hood entered the Wayfarer appeared, carrying a scroll and false beliefs (such as all Iridinians were illiterate). The scroll told of Claudette, the cobbler, being held captive in one of the old mines out by the forest, east of the hogs-back hill. Upon reaching the mine, the heroes found Claudette being guarded by a Cineran Partolman. After dispatching the soldier, they returned to the surface to battle with Cinerans led by the usual cloak. Another person, one 'Plinctur', was addressed as the cloak's superior. The Cineran attack was stopped and everyone was happy. ~ Dice August 6 (2:20) AM - Yellow Hoods and Masks Retreat With Tail Between Their Legs This morning a man in a hooded cloak, wielding a stave, approached Thain and challenged him to a bout. After striking at Thain and being blocked, Thain attempted to return the blows and met with the same results. The situation escalated when Magestica approached the man in defense of her friend. Jelkir, donning a face plate helmet, then approached Thain. Where cries for a Constable were made more masks arrived on the scene and before anyone knew it an all-out brawl was taking place. In the confusion blows were landed both to Thain and the hooded man. Soon though, stunned by Thain's skill, the additional masks and Jelkir made their retreat. The original hood stayed to block repeated blows but finally ran like a coward after the arrival of Atua. The identities of the hooded man and the late arriving masks are unknown, but many suspect one of them may have been either Pompeii Gnaeus, who was originally thought to be dead, or the fugitive bandit, Lantar. The criminals vowed revenge before scattering but its obvious to all that they have no real weight to throw around. ~ Anonymous August 5 (1:30) AM - Threats Made; Terror Looms Early this morning a man in a hooded cloak, wielding a quarterstave, assaulted Captain Locanda, Exit, and the legionary Magestica. After the three defenders of the peace were chased away by the villian, an innocent bystander named Aphrael was forced to relay threats to all of Iridine via her thoughts. The threats were, "In response to recent threats made by Thain, anyone that attacks a hooded cloak or mask will be slain. Also, everytime a hood or mask is killed, in connection with the recent threats made by Thain, five innocents will be slaughtered." No comment was made by the Captain, though several citizens expressed concern. One citizen, named Atre, was heard saying, "I don't mind hoods. As long as they leave me alone, I'm cool with it." ~ Anonymous August 3 (11:55) PM - Cinneran Standoff; Claudette Abducted This evening a party of invading Cineran soldiers were confronted on the Bridge of Kings by a group of rag-tag citizens, led by an Iridinian soldier. After a short confrontation scream were heard coming from the shoe merchant's shop. Claudette was not found and is suspected of being kidnapped by Cinerans. It is not known if these recent events are at all related to the ealier invasion by a Cineran officer and the flightless carrion-birds. ~ TEC News Staff
^Top^ July 29 (11:55) PM - Cinerans Attack Well, another night, another attack on Iridine. This time, then culprits were a number of carrion birds, and some cinerans, led by the usual red cloak. There were reports of the cloak leaving the sewers, leading to suspect them of entering Iridine via the portal. After a long while of fighting, all but the cloak fell dead, and he escaped into the distance. The carrion birds also spweed forth gases which nauseated several citizens, and this was fought with assistance by Darkraven, Locanda, and many other. Reasons for attack are yet unknown, as are the relation between Cinera and the foul fowl, but it is heavily noted that Cinera is also firmly rooted in Erealism. - CreepingDas July 25 (6:43) AM - The Wanderer Dentius, a travelling vagabond with a sack full of shiny goodies, arrived in Vetallun tonight to auction his wares. The evening went along smoothly until ahood and a man in a bronze mask showed up, made a few remarks about Dentius's wares, and basically stood around, until the man in the bronze mask ran up to Dentius and stole his sack. He was chased a bit, and eventually fell asleep. Fern reproduced the bag, with Dentius noting her to be a "wily one." The evening continued, with many emptied bank accounts, and quite a few sore heads and fists after bludgeoning the wall. Among the items sold were a pair of silk stolas, a purple wool sagum, an ivory flute, a gold bracelet, a silver amulet or two, some earrings, a scabbard, and uniquely designed weapons, including a gladius, a knife, a club, and a shield. Dentius promised he'd return another time, with more goods to share. ~ CreepingDas July 24 (5:02) PM - Debate On Monday, while TEC is down, Pontiax and Stonespyder are going to be hosting a debate in the TEC chat, at noon EST. Ready to get on with part two of the contest, Nauc annouced that due to a problem with the chartered fishing vessel that was planned to be boarded for the event. Nauc promised that the contest would be resumed soon, and citizens stayed and chatted untill sunset. ~ TEC News Staff July 16 (11:55) PM - Training Has Begun New acolytes for the Cult of Ereal gathered at the temple to discuss the Tome of Creation. Acolytes shared feelings, thoughts and summaries about the tome with Sarius while he sharing wisdom of his own. The tome taught the new students valuable lessons about how they should lead their lives as they begin to serve Ereal to their fullest, and walk the path towards priesthood. Afterwards, Sarius assigned the weekly goals for all of the acolytes, while the new members were greeted and shown their rooms. July 14 (10:57) AM - Recruitment Tonight, two recruitment opportunities hit town. For the more peaceful at mind, and kind at heart, the Cult of Ereal is holding one more chance for those interested in joining the church. Sarius will be at the temple in Iridine, taking interviews at 8:00pm EST. Also, at 10:00pm EST, the Blackvine Militia will be meeting at the Vetallun Road marker. If you are interested in learning about or joining the Militia, feel free to drop by. ~ TEC News Staff July 13 (11:01) PM - Boukoloi Strike yet Again The Boukoloi bandits, infamous for their reign of terror along the Invex struck again tonight, taking Locanda hostage, and injuring a few others. A few citizens, aware of the Boukoloi presence, wandered the woods in search of a fight. The night quickly took a turn to the worse when Curtius, a Boukoloi bandit, announced that he and fellow bandits had knocked Captain Locanda unconcious, and now had her hostage. Sable soon confirmed this fact, and citizens went into an uproar. In fear for Locanda's safety, groups set off in search of the ruthless bandits. The search eventually lead them to Blackvine, where the Boukoloi base is suspected to be located near. All had almost lost hope when Locanda suprisingly turned up in Blackvine, apparently released. No further clues as to the motive behind why she was taken, or set free have been confirmed, but the Boukoloi's story has far from ended. ~ TEC News Staff July 12 (9:13) PM - Sarius' Quest Citizens met at the temple in Iridine in search of Sarius, who was in need of some help. Sarius informed the group that one of the Cult's tomes had been stolen during delivery to the temple. He asked for anyone who could help recover it safely. Reports were that a young girl, Sidonia, had taken the tome and was last seen on the ancient Vetallun bridge. The group, lead by Wirrut, quickly walked towards the crossroads, and split up into groups in search of the girl. Sidonia was found, and the Tome of Creation was safely returned. As the night was thought to be over, a burrow of esecarnus was found near where Sidonia was hiding, and some set out in search of some esecarnus dung... one of the needed components to help save us from Moonfall. ~ TEC News Staff July 11 (7:34) AM - Storytelling Contest Yesterday night, Marcellus, tender of the Golden Anchor bar, held a storytelling contest. Several people dropped in, to drink an ale, tell a story, or to just kick back and have a listen. By the end of the contest, several people had fallen asleep. (maybe because of Malik's melancholy song, sad, but very good) Atua told a moralistic story about bearcats and their greed and Atha told one about inner strength. Kylara told a story about a relative called Grazen. But the four winners turned out to be the four storytellers, who, through an iron will, stayed awake to the end. Fourth place was mine to claim, with my misadventure tale. Third place went to Infinitus, for his wonderful story of black sheep and their demise. Second place was Morphius's for his great war-story, and Rinath took first place in the vaunted "Battle of the Sleepiest" with his tale about the bandit of Franlius. ~ Lanamor July 10 (4:46) PM - Fishing contest, round I Last evening, a fishing contest was held by Nauc, a bartender in Monlon. He announced that it would be a bass (the meaty, brown fish) contest, in his private jetty, and all were invited. After a few brief words exchanged, he took everyone to the spot, not far from the bar. After about a half hour of nothing but Weeders, the fat, yellow fish, (due to a bug causing bass to dissappear when caught), and a few sightings of large bumpy fish, Nauc decided to extend the contest a half hour, and soon off many folk were catching them. Among the top fishermen were Vertilus and Jazmine with 3, and Wirrut with a whopping 5 (3 given to him by friend Phatom, allowed by Nauc). After the fishing was over, Nauc showed everyone the prizes for first, second, and third, which were fishing poles tapered with gold, silver, and bronze handles, respectively. He also announced that due to poor fishing, there would be a second round, and that the scores would be cumulative, so don't toss your rod into the Invex yet! ~ Creepingdas July 9 (3:14) PM - Boukoloi renew violence Three more travelers were assualted on the Vetallun Road this week. Authorities say that one brigand wore a hood while the other hid his identity by donning a mask. There were no casualties reported, but the news is nevertheless disturbing for many Iridine residents. "If it is who I think it is, run away as fast as you can," said one resident who wished to remain anonymous. Speculations abound as to the identity of the perpetrators, but one name keeps appearing in idle conversation -- "Pompeii." According to another citizen, the individual with that name is extremely skilled and is to be greatly feared. Authorities have refused to comment on the matter, but request that any pertinent information be brought to the attention of Locanda immediately. A new city edict allows citizens to attack and disable any person wearing a hood or mask, but does not condone killing them. According to the new law, citizens who kill a person wearing a hood will be formally charged with murder. With such vigilante laws now enacted, authorities expect a rise in violent crime, but they caution residents to stay within the limits of the law. ~ Historian July 8 (10:45) AM - A Pleasant Evening Last night at the open role-play, Malik held a free concert at the Toga. Dressed all in white, he performed many songs, including a wonderful encore, and a song devoted to his good friend, Aestro. It was definitly a pleasant way to spend an evening. ~ Kurlac July 7 (7:06) PM - More Lag, and open role-play As the new hard drive is not in yet, but is expected to be in by tommorrow, an open role-playing night has been declared. Develop your own plots or events with friends, and report to the GM's when you see some outstanding role-playing. Staff will be out looking for expectional role-players, and awarding points to those who fit the bill. ~ TEC News Staff July 6 (11:10) PM - Open Season Declared On Hoods Legate Actaeon of the Iridinian Constables cleared up any disagreements over the meaning of the late dictator Orsaca Calsuan's face covering law. The law now states that anyone that uses a hood or a mask to cover their face should be warranted for impersonation by a constable. The law also invites any upstanding citizen to attack the criminal. If the criminal removes their hood, the citizen must cease their attack or they will be warranted for assault. While the law states subduing the criminal with force is legal, murder is still considered illegal and citizens will be warranted for it. Much mystery still surrounds the assassination of Calsuan. An investigation was initiated by the Legion many months ago but little has been said of it since. ~ Minuet July 5 (11:45) PM - Looking For A Few Good Men And Women The Legion recruitment continues. For those who missed the other one, this is your last chanse to join. Meet Subaltern Wallace Octavian and his Sergeant Thoras Trollbane on the Campus Martius (the training fields) north of Iridine [Thursday, July 8, 7:00pm EDT] for information and requirements for joining the most illustrious legion, Legio I. Those who signed up last time, are also welcome to join, to get any of their questions answered. An prompt arrival is expected. ~ Subaltern Wallace Octavian of Legio I July 4 (11:40) PM - Contents of Sarcophagus Recovered, Lost Again The sound of boots and sandals disturbed the quiet serenity of the catacombs once more last night as a group of adventurers and visitors to the temple in Monlon undertook to deliver the contents of Iridine's sarcophagus to the priests of our city. This time, however, the adventurers were joined by an old priest and the Legio I centurion Marcus. It seems the priest had promised to deliver a lead on the whereabouts of the missing Apolia in exchange for the centurion's help in recovering the scroll and dust inside the sarcophagus. While the priest waited in the columbarium the others began systematically searching every inch of the catacombs for a rumored chamber containing the bodies of hundreds, perhaps thousands of Iridinian priests, in the hopes of finding a means to open the sarcophagus. Finally a strange-looking boulder was found which, when touched by Quaestrus, opened a crack in the wall leading to a multi-chambered columbarium. Almost immediately the group began prying open coffins and searching their contents. Many contained gems, a some bones and dust. One, however, revealed a strange pair of gloves, apparently used by the priests of legendary times to touch items protected by holy magic. ~TEC News Staff
June 21 (11:06) PM - Two Boukoloi Captured! It had become all too familiar. The late night cry for help from a distressed traveler on Vetallun Road. The Boukoloi Bandits were on the offensive again, demanding their toll. "Pay the toll or pay with your life" they would shout. This time it was a stavesman, Roq. He fought bravely as he petitioned his friends in Iridine for help, but soon he too fell. Unlike other nights, though, it didn't end there. Before long a young hunter named Armagillus was unfortunate enough to happen upon the bandits. Luckily, a large group of vigilantes followed closed behind him. What ensued was pure chaos. Staves and gladii clashed everywhere. Soon the first bandit had been defetaed, a spear-man named Curtius. The strongest of the bandits attmepted to drag his fallen comrade to safety, but before long he lie unconscious next to him. Having unmasked the second Boukoloi, Lantar, the vigilantes began celebrating their victory. Marsaya and Shade carried Lantar to Vetallun village, where an Iridinian Constable, Jazmine, arrested him for everything from larceny to impersonation to kidnapping. He will serve eight weeks in Iridine's jail. Curtius, the other bandit, escaped capture and is still wanted. It appears that the road to Vetallun is safe again, for a little while anyway. ~ TEC News Staff June 20 (12:55) PM - Atua's Team Victorious The bodyguard contest is over. After struggling with the difficult decision, Malonius finally announced yesterday evening that the team led by Atua had beat out the rest. Their prize? Rare bronze knives with golden hilts fashioned in the shape of a wolf. Finishing in second place, the team led by Sepulus received bronze knives with silver hilts. Close behind, in third place, Aestro's team received the bronze knives with ebony hilts. The competition was fierce and the results very close. Runners-up received consolation prizes in the form of cash. ~ Minuet June 19 (1:42) PM - The Golden Banner Last night, Severius meet with intrested recruits for the Soldiers of Ereal. Among attendance at the shrine in the heart of the forum was Captain Locanda, Orvis, Celyn, Marsaya, Willace, and many others. Severius went on to speak about the Soldiers of Ereal, and gave some guidelines for joining. "I am here today in search of Tabliers, those who wish a chance to join unto our ranks to serve Ereal. Our lives are dedicated to the protecting of Ereal, our warrior healers are the fiercest fighters in Iridine." Almost all that attended showed intrest in joining the ranks. Serverius was very pleased, and was glad to see so many still loyal to Ereal. ~TEC News Staff June 18 (11:55) AM - Three Months To Live! Yesterday evening, east of the Stone Toga Inn, priests of Ereal and a Cineran scholar met with the citizens of Iridine. Recently, astrologers and diviners have been predicting an extremely rare, extremely dangerous event. They fear that when the four moons align on the horizon in three months, an ancient prophecy known as the Moonfall will be fulfilled. Arvius and the Cineran, Leptanious, currently have in their possession fragments of a pale translucent stone though no one is sure of the significance of these stones. The priests of Ereal seem to be convinced that if five powerful amulets can be found, this disaster can be averted. They have called upon the citizens of Ereal to help in the search. Rumors were circulated that two of the amulets may be in the possession of Lantar and Darkraven. Halo, a respected herbalist, feared that one of the amulets was being guarded by the champion of Ravan, known to many as Dytan. ~ Compiled with the aid of Ltshonfelt, Aeryll, and Gribble June 18 (11:21) AM - Mysterious Man Incites Crowd Yesterday evening, while the priest Tharius was holding a meeting with the citizens of Iridine concerning the recent apocalyptic prophecies, a mysterious man wearing a hooded cloak emerged from the crowd. He handed two parchments to Tharius and began making heretical accusations about the honesty and integrity of the priests of Ereal. Luckily, Tharius handled the situation gracefully and quietly dismissed the man's wild statements. After reclaiming his parchments, the hooded fellow fled questions and requests for the parchments by running down a riverwalk east of Pego's Tavern. ~ Anonymous June 17 (9:21) AM - Bandits Strike Again The masked men along Vetallun road have struck again. This time, the victims were two young men, Deanius and Danus. They were attacked near Bragan's armory in Vetallun this morn. The bandits beat Danus unconscious, stole some of his items, and left him along Vetallun Road. He was discovered by Aestro Asmadi, one of several whom had responded to the call for help. He was guarded until Fistandantilus, who was strong enough to move him to Fiona's, arrived. Also found with Danus was a piece of parchment, alledgedly left by the "Boulaki", or some group of that name, claiming that all must pay the toll for use of the road. Constables Ox and Gart pursued the assailants about Vetallun, until they escaped. From testimony and eyewitness accounts, it is believed they are three in number, two stavesmen and one spear, with the lead stavesman wearing a bronze helm with a faceplate, a black hood, and a unique cloth mask with swirling eyes. Keep your coinpouches tight, and your weapons tighter when travelling Vetallun Road. ~ Aestro Asmadi June 16 (3:05) PM - Bandits Strike Yesterday morning three masked men assaulted Sicily while she walked to Vetallun Fort. The bandits sprung forth from the grasslands shouting, "Pay the toll or pay with yer life!" Sicily managed to escape them, but not before suffering a few punctures and losing her sack. Upon hearing cries for help, Iridine's hunters and warriors wielded their gladii and set off to dispatch these bandits. The first to happen upon them, a man named Gagra, soon found himself unconscious and thoroughly robbed. When larger groups of hunters began arriving, the three men turned tail and ran like the cowards they are. It seems the road to Vetallun is no longer as safe as it once was. ~ TEC News Staff June 13 (10:54) AM - Another Tournament Rinath held another tournament, which was a free-for-all. The winner, Istarn, was the last man standing after a long battle with Kylara. The other contestants were Sharcu, Infinitus, Toshiro, Atua, Cepheron, Vindarin, Nikaloki, Hellios, and Jin. The two healers the attended the fighters were Honor and Mimick. Everyone of these people should be proud of what they did at the tournament and what place they got.Atua deserves special recognition for the help that was given through the entire tournament, as both a contestant and helper. Rinath does promise another tournament soon though. He hopes even more people will join! ~ Long47 June 10 (11:25) AM - Concert At The Stone Toga Inn A small crowd of the city's musicians at the ever pop- ular Stone Toga Inn attracted quite a crowd last eve. At first meant to be a small gathering, the musical display rapidly transformed into a raucous gathering of those who appreciated the talents of the performers. Performances were given by Shade, whos sang several self-written tunes while being accompanied instrumentally by the ever-talented Malik and Aestro, who also performed a few compositions of their own. Magestica performed a song she wrote, and a sailor in the bar treated the guests to a rendition of 'The Drunken Sailor.' Other entertainment was to be found as well, as a small demonstration of blade and archery skill was put on by Aestro, Infinitus, and Nikaloki. The trio of musicians have reportedly planned other performances at the Toga, and this writer assures all that attending would be well worth the trip. ~ Stovall June 10 (2:52) AM - Infinitus Wins Tournament Rinath and Anex put on a small tournament for the warriors of midlight.Typhin, Kenshin, Jerimius, and Infinitus answered the call sent out and brought their weapons. And after long battles, of which ever warrior should be proud, Infinitus emerged first, followed in second my Kenshin, then Typhin in third, and finally Jerimius in fourth. Exit and Sano were spectators through the entire display but were later joined by a few others. Minos and Serenity assisted with healing the wounded warriors after every battle. Rinath did announce that do to the popularity of the tournament and not everyone getting a chance to fight, he will be holding another tournament very soon. One which he promises to be different then any other tournament Iridine has seen. ~ Long47 June 9 (11:23) AM - Cleaning Up The Streets The self-acknowledged stupidest criminal ever alive, Ja, was apprehended yesterday, with the corpse of a child in his possession. This brought to a close the insane frenzy of murder which that felon found himself committing. Along with the woman Anarchia, the two attempted to terrorize the city. Rather unsuccessfully. Several days ago, Anarchia was brought to jail. Ja followed the day after. "...Have you ever looked into a guy's eyes before you kill him? WHAT A RUSH!" Those were the thoughts uttered by Ja after he was brought in by a helpful constable. The constable who arrested him informed us all that he had been carrying the corpse of a child. "There will be no trouble prosecuting him...he'll be hung from the beams." ~ Livy June 8 (11:50) PM - Riticus and Elrina Wed It was about Midnight, the begining of the 11th day of the Festival of the Morning, in the 216th year of the Republic. In the Arboretum entrance of the Gardens..the guests had assembled, and the Priestess Loria had arrived, when Riticus knelt at Elrina's feet, took her hand asking, "I know I have asked this before.. Will you marry me?" and offered her a rose. As she accepted his rose, Elrina answered, " Yes, I will marry you, right here, right now... in front of our friends." Priestess Loria officiated over the beautiful ceremony,as the couple exchanged vows of devotion to each other. They exchanged bracelets as symbols of their love, which were blessed by Ereal, in a marvelous display of his light around each one. Shade sang a wonderful love song during the ceremony and the bride shed a tear. Special attendants were Locanda and Wolke. The guests were numerous and included many of their close friends as well as aquaintances. The refreshments included various fish, soft-shelled turtles, oysters, wine, mead and ale. The Lorica's are planning a honeymoon trip in the future. ~ Ltshonfelt June 5 (12:30) AM - Jewels and Gemstones As the Ereal was setting behind the Lighthouse Island, a merchant named Carlopis arrived at the Stone Toga Inn. He had for sale a number of pieces of jewerly. The prices were diverse enough that everyone from a succesful rat hunter to an experienced bandit tracker could find something that fit their tastes. Of course, the more ornate the item, the more expensive it was. Trading proceeded smoothly, though one or two bid wars did occur. One ring, which was priced at a 2700 denar, eventually went for 4500! The pleasent evening came to a grinding hault when a seedy looking man in a hooded cloak broke up the party. He rushed in and stole Carlopis' bag, containing all the money and a beautiful bracelet. Constables and vigilantes persued the criminal, but before long had lost all track of him. A young boy, Bari, found the bracelet I had admired and returned it to Captain Locanda. By the time Ereal greeted me from the otherside of the Republic, I was exhausted and broke from the excitement. Though the pieces of jewerly I had purchased were well worth it. ~ Anonymous June 1 (12:10) PM - Heretics On Trial Pego, owner of a small tavern north of the Stone Toga Inn, overhead a heretic named Catherine speaking of the false god Ravan, yesterday evening. Alarmed by the treasonous talk, he contacted a member of the Soldiers of Ereal. When the soldier arrived he took Catherine into custody and had her jailed. Fearing execution, she quickly began turning in her fellow Ravanites. Soon, she had named Nikaloki, Darrious, Exit, Retalq, Phagan, Sefrit, Clementine, Arial, Darkraven, and Phatom. The Soldier of Ereal questioned these other Iridinians at the Wayfarer Inn shortly after dusk. His interrogations were interrupted by cries of terror from outside the Inn. Ravan's evil army of flightless, carrion birds had laid siege to the great city of Iridine. In the ensuing chaos, citizens took up arms against the beasts. The fate of those brave enough to defend Ereal's city is not yet known. ~Submitted by Circleone & Minuet May 31 (8:45) AM - The Search For Sight Yesterday evening, a group of Iridinian found a young, blind girl named Kala in the Gardens of Iridine. They soon discovered that Kala was searching for the infamous healer Avrius, who is said to possess the ability to restore sight. Unable to find Avrius nearby, the group of Iridinians took Kala's advice and went to Monlon diviner named Aquavia. Aquavia saw a cottage with a tall angular man. The cottage was unknown to the group of citizens, so Aquavia offerd her brother Tarian's assisatance. She is certain that Tarian will help them find this cottage. Where is the cottage? Who is this tall angular man? And will the Iridinians find Avrius in time to restore Kala's sight? We'll find out soon enough, when the story resumes. ~Submitted by Minuet May 30 (4:00) PM - Cineran Terrorism Continues In recent weeks, groups of Cineran soldiers, led by a cloak wearing officers, have been harassing Iridinians. The small bands of soldiers, while not large enough to sack the city, are enough to provoke an armed response from local hunters hunters and constables. Soldiers are armed and skilled with gladii, staves, and dirks. The added arsenal of exploding paper balls, which stun victims, have made them very worthy opponents. The soldiers strike late at night and are said to have kidnapped a number of citizens, including the healer Macova. The Senate has yet to address the issue and the Legio's presence is seemingly nonexistent. As a local Constable Captain put it, "The Legio always seems to arrive just in time to carry away the corpses." ~Submitted by Minuet May 29 (11:30) PM - Danger On The High Seas Several Iridinians soon found themselves sea sick when they accepted the duty of guarding a cargo ship. Captain Sailonius offered five hundred denar to anyone would come aboard his ship, The Marauder, and defend it from possible attacks. The ship and its inexperienced crew set sail shortly after sunset. Before long, they found themselves being tossed about by a violent storm. Even the most hardened guards found themselves surrendering their dinner over the side of the ship. By early morning the ship had arrived its destination. The crew of guards helped move food and wine on to the ship. As they were completing their task, a Cineran Warship landed at the island. A small group of Cinerans, led by a gladius wielding heavy soldier, boarded The Marauder as it departed. The guards quickly dispatched the crew. The return trip was uneventful and the ship arrived in port shortly after dawn. Tempers flared and a short scuffle between a pair of legionaries ensued. The fight was soon broken up before anyone was seriously hurt. ~Submitted by 68792 April 27 (9:07) PM -Search Fujin's wife has come to Iridine and is searching for Kano her brother-in-law. March 20 (10:19) PM - Interrogation Near chaos ensued last night as several Iridine soldiers dragged Bibulus the bonze dealer to an interrogation area in the forum. Bibulus was caught selling broken weapons to the Legio I and was accused of dealing with weapon sellers who killed an Iridine officer and sold that officer's armor. Some accused were Stryfe, Pacolypse, and several others. Melee almost ensued as Captain Locanda stood to defend the marchant from the Centurion Loqutus' torture implements while Thoras stood to keep the peace. Loric was attacked by constables when Loqutus declared martial law. Many members of the city yelled and drew weapons, but fortunately, there was only one case of violence. Finally, the suspects were questioned and it seems no one is guilty. ~ Cyanicus March 20 (2:36) PM - Victim's Storehouse Hear ye, Hear ye: It seems that ever more, people are getting knocked out and stolen from. Any of you who wish to help with this, please give any donations of armor, weapons, food, equipment, clothes, or money to me so I can store them in the bank. Then if anyone loses all of their possesions, they may come to me and ask for goods, which I will provide. ~ Appolus March 20 (2:00) AM - The Wages of War Caesius collected supplies, weapons, armor, and that good ole' denar for our hard working Legio 1 from citizens all around Iridine at campus martis today. Those who donated, no matter large or small got a nice pin which you could wear, showing that you are one of the proud donors. Caesius also revealed that those top donators would be reconized by having their names on a plaque, under a statue to be constructed in the gardens. Have a cold? Well, when you cough silver denars come out your mouth, and when you laugh all you wounds are healed and your dropped back into the Toga... even if you had the unlucky fate to be killed. Wanna complain? Too bad, cause if you tried to proclaim a pleasant message came up stating that the GMs can't hear you. Sound like fun? Well, for some it was, others it wasen't but thats what how Sunday Night was like. While the GMs worked on reverting to a saved backup, they turned death on and coded some neat tricks, and delcared the night a free-for-all. Most had alot of fun, going on killing sprees and reliving some tension between them. Others, although found it not humorous, cowering in inn rooms and not playing the game at all. It was fun while it lasted, but I think everyone is glad that it's back to normal now. And, I must say Phaedro has some mighty tasty brains. ~ Stonespyder February 27 (11:40) PM - Great Newbie Site! Blizziak awoke this morning to a pleasant surprise... A man matching the description of the thug that beat him last night perfectly. It seems the man found my inn room key in my sack and decided to spend the night, as the man slept I got Phalacia to change the locks. I got the new key... He got jailed in my inn room *chuckle* Me and him had a conversation and it seems it was a case of mistaken identity... a screw up on his part. I will not say the mans name because he returned all of my stuff and it seems that he was kind of sorry about what he did. I guess there is no more bounty. Sorry Hunters. ~ Afrodiziak February 2 (12:31 AM) - Update on Bounty Blizziak has just heard a rumor that Oxx's sack might have been stolen by Terrelian. Blizziak was talking to Terrelian at the bank right before this happened. Perhaps 2 bounties are in order... If someone can get Blizziak Terrelians sack... and perhaps him unconcious Blizziak will also give 5 talents. I find it quite funny that no one has seen Oxx around but Terrelian seems to be turning up quite a bit. Anyways both bounties stick... If you see someone with this hood, you stand to recieve quite a reward. ~ Afrodiziak February 1 (11:49 AM) - Bounty for Oxx Blizziak is offering a bounty of 5 TALENTS for the death of Oxx (Oxx not Oxalicious). Blizziak was viciously beaten and mugged by him. Here is a description of Oxx with his hood on: You see a tall musculur man He is wearing a sagum, a black silk hooded cloak emblazoned with the blue outline of an eagle and closed with an oval clasp etched with an eagle, some black cineran military boots, a bronze greave, a bronze greave, and some leather gloves. He uses a club. If someone can bring Blizziak Oxx's hood and all other garments they will be rewarded with 5 talents... If they can bring Oxx unconcious to him (I have plans for him) they will be rewarded with 7 Talents. Thank you all who help. ~ Afrodiziak January 30 (11:12 AM) - Davos' Auction (Note - This was last nights event) That was certainly one of the most interested nights I've ever had. Davos was at the Wayfarer Inn with tons of great things to sell. Although I arrived there an hour late, I did see some interesting things happen. A keyring that started at 50 denars went up to around 500 denars, there was a great spear and a rare-metals lorica hamata that went for several talents each, and a beautiful gold necklace with a charm that caused all the ladies there to quiver with delight. That was won by Echo, and she wears it with pride. There was also a statue of a small child wrapped in a sagum and sleeping on a sack for sale too. But one of the most interesting things that happened was when a black scorpion crawled up from the floor cracks, stung Furtim, and went back down into the floor. Furtim was OK for a while, but then he was stunned, and his legs began to shake. He kept bidding on things, though, and refused to go to Fiona in Vetallun for healing. After the auctions were over, a few people (myself included) waited at the inn for Davos to return (he had left to collect payment). While we were waiting, his small sack (that contained all the items to sell) starting moving. I tried to open it, and my hand got bitten. Then I tried to feed it, and failed. I glared at it, and 2 beady eyes glared back at me. Someone tried to urinate in it, and got stunned. When Davos returned, he fed it at Echo and my requests. Then, he opened it, and pulled out a statue of a black scorpion! The statue looked just the same as the one one that had stung Furtim! Davos had no idea how it got there, and it wasn't in the sack when I looked in it while it was open. It was certainly and interesting night. ~ Submitted by Shar January 29 (2:33 AM) - Angels of Iridine Take Flight The healers guild has just started and is now accepting members. If you are a healer and would like more information on joining the guild head on over and talk to the Angels of Iridines. ~ Afrodiziak January 29 (1:36 AM) - Cineran Attack on Iridine! Iridine was once again attacked by Cinerans. The man in the red cloak accompanied them in a battle that was even taking place within The Wayfarer's Halls! Many of the cities best fighters were present and it was quite a battle. (I don't really know much more considering I just woke up close to the end of the battle... Is anyone else having trouble getting TEC to load up?) ~ Afrodiziak January 29 (1:32 AM) - First Issue Of Iridine Press Released! You all might have heard about it but it's finally out! The first issue of the Iridine Press has been released and it is full of very interesting facts, humour, and stories. You can check it out from the News link at the Official Site. I really like the adventures of Dux and Comes, and the write up about Teluvia and Sempronius. *curses something about spending 1000 denar on a tile and not getting makeover* =) ~ Afrodiziak January 27 (9:45 PM) - Healer Appreciation Day Attention Iridine!...and all generious souls across the land. I would like to bring to your attention a group of people who have loved served and been loyal to you a long time. Healers. These kind souls often work all day to save our hides. Very seldom charging and often having to hunt or harvest themselves to be sure we have bandages and stuff to cover all the holes we end up with in our little adventures. {Has anyone ever bothered to checked what Iskara charges these poor healers for supplies? *rolls her eyes*} So therefore because of all the kind things they do..and because they give up so much for us without asking for anything in return I am proclaiming Healers Appreciation day this Monday February 1. I am asking all good citizens of Iridine who have been healed at some point to bring donations to hospice. Let's show the healers we can be as generious as they are. I'm sure they will appreciate it with the war effort going on and all. Hope to see you all at hospice and if you can't make it then just stop a healer in the travels to patch someone up and offer them what you can. ~ Submitted By Sarai January 25 (12:37 AM) - Letter from Appolus Dear citizens of Iridine: I write to you from aboard a vessel bearing me on a journey that is of such difficulty I doubt that I might return. Before you begin to wonder why I would undertake such a sojourn I must explain the circumstances of this voyage. I make this journey not because of what is currently happening, but because I seek the truths of my past. Some of you might know that I came to Iridine because of a tragedy that befell me and my family a long time ago. I searched for the doer of the great evil, but I did not find him. I have received news that Some villagers not far from where I once lived have seen strange goings on since the arrival of a man which fits the evil villain's description perfectly. Not only have I heard this, but that my beloved Lucana might still live in horrible service to the sorcerer. This has brought rage to my heart, and joy, all at the same time. I am being carried to my native village in Gadaene to search for the wretched fiend who before doomed me to misery. I wish that Aedile continue working on our plans, and all of you to take care, and try not to get killed. If anyone worries over my fate, don't, I'd rather die the same way my family did, than know that I could have the fiend and let him go. Sincerely, Appolus Remus ~ Afrodiziak/Khiziak January 22 (2:01 PM) - Bandit Attack! Well for those who were complaining that there were no bandits to hunt, Iridine was attacked by a huge band of bandits accompanied by a Cineran Warlord today. They were met by a large group of Iridine fighters on Vet road. ~ Afrodiziak/Khiziak January 21 (10:24 PM) - Toys! Toys! Toys! Just when I thought that nothing was gonna happen today... The Toy Shop Reopens!! Yay! =) If you all want to check it out it is near Mondan (walk to bank - go west a little ways, then down the stairs, and then west through the building) I bought a stuffed Osecar which should look great in my new inn room. ~ Afrodiziak/Khiziak January 20 (2:42 AM) - The Wayfarer Opens Last night at about 11:00 pm The Wayfarer officially opened, and it was met by a room hungry mob! hehe, I finally got a room! If you weren't awake and didn't get a room don't worry, there should be another Inn opening up in the near future. ~ Afrodiziak/Khiziak January 19 (10:35 PM) - Teresa and Kendai Wed Today Teresa & Kendai were wed. Shentelle was the maid of honor, Marcelo was the best man, and Locanda performed the services. A stone was passed between them instead of rings, as a symbol of longevity. Congratulations to Teresa and Kendai! Let's hope Kendai doesn't do anything to make Teresa mad... (Thank you to Shentelle for the information on the wedding) ~ Afrodiziak/Khiziak January 19 (12:14 AM) - Another Strange Night In Iridine It all started out with alligators and lions in front of the toga, then Spiders, Morleus, and Lots of Thugs in the alley's. Then on top of all that we got attacked by a Cineran in a red cloak, who was indestructible. I saw many of the cities best fighters fall to his blows. The man told me he had a message but was to busy defending himself to tell it. Quite an exciting night in Iridine ~ Afrodiziak/Khiziak January 18 (9:26 PM) - Some Things To Look Forward To I had a talk with Scott tonight and he let me in on a couple of things that are in the works. He confirmed that there will be 2 new inns opening & a neighborhood for houses (I'm hoping Scott will send me that House price list ;) He also told me of some upcoming events that are quite interesting. Scott is working to have a total player run society and it looks like it should be very interesting. The one thing that I really liked are the some of the new skills that may be implemented... we'll just keep those a secret for now =) ~ Afrodiziak/Khiziak January 17 (7:26 PM) - Iridine's New Constable Captain TEC Underground News would like to congratulate Locanda on having the position of Constable Captain bestowed on her. Acteaon called all to an announcement at the Well of Comitia tonight and announced this. Acteaon also stated that Locanda's devotion is unquestionable, and her temperment would make her the best person for the stressful situations in Iridine. ~ Afrodiziak/Khiziak January 16 (8:45 PM) - Building a New City (This ended up in the Underground Mailbox today) Plans are being put underway for a new city altogether. This city will try to have no GM assist as the GMs would like us to be in charge of things like that anyways. The city will of course start out small and most of the buildings will be lean-tos but eventually it might be as big as Iridine some day. Although GMs help will be needed because we hope to put a barkeeper and a NPC healer in our city, and other things to give a reason to journey to our city. These are only beginning plans but will most likely take form very soon. If you like the idea go ahead and show some support, because most of the sellers in the city will be mostly PC people not NPC. We pray maybe even one of the Inns will go here, but most likely it won't. (Is This just a rumour?) ~ Afrodiziak/Khiziak January 13 (6:00 PM) - Revolution in the Making? Rumors have started that a group of people are about to begin an open revolt against Iridine. They are tired of the constables and other aspects of the Government. They are fighting for freedoms including, Speech, Press, Right to a fair trial, Freedom to defend thyself and they property, and if succeed will make government positions open to all citizens from the poor to the rich, also will make gaining citizenship easier. They also plan on a public housing division, along with more job, and plan on more public road systems, and better protection for citizens. No one knows how soon the open revolt will begin or how, but I'm sure they will be accepting more people, so if you feel freedom is necessary then join with them and when they succeed try to run for a government position. More towns are also in the works if they succeed. As they would say," Freedom to the Republic!" ~ Submitted by an Anonymous Citizen January 11 (10:46 PM) - Our New Constable Captain? It seems Actaeon and Locanda held a meeting tonight and discussed the responsibilites that comes with the captains duty... The paperwork, the criminal chasing, etc. Actaeon then asked the citizens if they had a choice who would they choose for captain... the vote came up unanimous for Locanda. Perhaps we will soon have a new constable Captain =) ~ Afrodiziak/Khiziak January 9 (11:25 AM) - Blade (Note - This was last nights Event) It began with a bright light in the sky. The fireball impacted to the north-east of town. Shortly after, a man named Malurnus appeared in front of the Toga and started speaking of his "bride" in the sky. He offered a talent-weight in gold to the group the found the rock and returned it to him. Groups set off to find the rock, following the smoke and the glow on the horizon. Around an hour after, the citizens found and engaged a Cineran group. Malik began to negotiate with them, and they spoke of red-crested soldiers working with what sounded suspicously like Ravanites. The rock, we now believe, was sent by Ereal to help us battle Ravan. The rock was split, one half given to Cinera, one to us. Hopefully, this will help us with our battle against Ravan. ~ Submitted By Tycho January 8 (3:47 PM) - Atua's Update on the War Just a slight update on your reportage of the war. While it is true that the Cinerians were the ones that landed in Blackvine, it should be remembered that the primary enemy is the Aestivan League, which allied with certain Cinerian factions and began attacking towns all along Iridine's eastern border. According to the news received during the Senate meeting, Astraea had already fallen to the League and an army is currently marching upon the holy site of Monlon. However, not all of the Cinerian factions have sided with the Aestivan League. Eburnus has noted that some of them are coming over to join our soldiers fighting in the east. As for the landing force, after the battle with the Cinerian officer, a few dedicate citizens arrived at Blackvine itself and drove off the handful of Cinerian soldiers which were still holding the town. They were greeted by the welcome sight of the enemy galleys being assaulted, with great success, by local fishing vessels armed with fire arrows. The names of the new consuls, by the way, are Seredian Allende and Atriarch Anande. ~ Submitted by Atua January 6 (8:37 PM) - Tempers Flaring Pompeii's temper flared tonight after a confrontation with Yuia. The two of them had a misunderstanding (which I don't know about), but blows were exchanged. Pompeii wanted his minor assault charges dismissed but would not meet with Locanda and Yuia to talk about it. Locanda claimed the charges would stand and he replied by calling our beloved constable a "Lady Moron." After a couple minutes of name calling Pompeii was slapped with Major Assault, Kidnapping, and Confinement charges. Pompeii replied with "Your going to have to add murder in 5 minutes." Pompeii claims that Yuia attacked Cembre, and he was acting in defence. Pompeii then knocked Yuia into Unconsciousness, tied him up, and allowed him to be robbed. Hehe I thought the tying part was a nice little addition. Some say he's gone mad, but I'm gonna have to say I'm on Pompeii's side on this one. I am writing this as it happens, and it seems someone named Acteaon just charged Pompeii with Treason. If anyone knows who this Acteaon fellow is, could you drop me a line? ~ Afrodiziak/Khiziak January 6 (7:20 PM) - The Cineran War (note - This was Sunday nights event) During the meeting with the Senate ( in which two senators were voted to run for the leader of Iridine, Allende and another guy whose name slips my mind now). They were about to end the meeting when an Iridine soldier tore in and whispered something to Eburnus. Turns out Cinerans were invading Blackvine and heading to Vetallun. We all met at Vetallun to guard the bridge. Volunteering myself for scout I shot toward Blackvine, about a quarter-mile from Vetallun I ran into two Cinerans. They called me a traitor (jerks) then continued on beating me up. Just as the reinforcements arrived to help me, I lost consciousness. There was a long battle (which I couldn't help in, and it didn't help when I was stabbed twice by Thain and Rangar, accidentally, because of my name, hey it got the two Cinerans fighting for a while) After several more Cinerans came, we won. The captain ran away and thought aloud something like, "Wait until our real army comes!" Several people caught up to him and started to beat him up. I FINALLY awoke (thanks to the gods) and I got there just in time to see him get knocked unconscious. I shackled and manacled him, we took him to the barracks and gave him to Aulus for questioning. This is probably just the beginning. ~ Submitted By Cinerio ^Top^ |
